Dough Technician





Job Description


At Blondie’s Doughnuts, our Dough Technicians are key players in making sure our doughnuts and pastries look and taste amazing. They are responsible for setting the pace for a great shift, every shift. Dough Technicians work diligently to scale, mix, and shape multiple types of dough and batter for doughnuts, pastries and cakes that are served fresh to our customers each day.


Key Responsibilities

  • Measure and weigh raw ingredients to prepare various types of doughs, using digital scales or graduated containers

  • Mix dough and batters for the production schedule according to specific company recipes and preparation guidelines

  • Properly store all mixed dough and batters adhering to recipes and procedures

  • Visually inspect all products throughout the shift. Remove any product that does not meet company standards

  • Follow the production counts to ensure the accurate amounts of dough are being mixed

  • Communicate with the Production Lead and Kitchen Manager/Pastry Chef to cross check production numbers and troubleshoot quality issues

  • Ensure cleanliness of all work areas throughout the shift

  • Ensure maintenance of equipment and tools used daily and report any malfunctions to the Kitchen Manager/Pastry Chef

  • Complete and submit cleaning checklists at designated times

  • Other related responsibilities as assigned

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Previous experience working with dough is a plus, but not required!

  • Ability to work a variety of shifts, including weekends, and holidays

  • Comfortable with physically strenuous and repetitive tasks

  • Excellent punctuality and reliable transportation to and from work

  • An extreme attention to detail

  • Ability to multitask and set priorities

  • Friendly attitude & team player

  • Excellent time management skills to work at a fast pace when given plenty of time

  • Curiosity to continue to learn

  • Integrity to work alone with minimal supervision

  • Initiative to communicate and suggest improvements when needed

  • Ability to perform basic addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division

  • Ability to work in a standing position for long periods of time (up to 10 hours)

  • Ability to bend, reach, stoop, and lift up to 50 pounds

  • Open availability including weekends and holiday

  • Fluency to read and communicate in English
